Meet Douglas Parsons JR, a dedicated Firefighter/EMT with the Lapel Stony Creek Township Fire Territory. With 4 years of experience in the fire service and 8 months with LSCTFT, Douglas holds the rank of Firefighter/EMT. In his full-time role, he serves as a FEMA Individual Assistance Operations Chief.

For Douglas, volunteering is about more than just giving back – it’s personal. “I volunteer because I enjoy seeing families and people thrive,” he says. “I strive to make a difference because I would want the same for my wife and kids. Serving as a firefighter reminds me of my military service and gives me a sense of faith within our community.”

As a proud military veteran, Douglas has committed his life to serving others. His journey began with defending our nation, and now he continues to protect and care for our community as a firefighter and EMT. Whether responding to emergencies, lending a helping hand, or simply showing up every day with courage and compassion, Douglas embodies the true meaning of service and sacrifice. By day, she works full-time as an Advanced EMT at Community Hospital Anderson, further solidifying her commitment to helping others.

For Destiny, volunteering is about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. She finds fulfillment in being a source of comfort and support during life’s most challenging moments, and values the connections she makes along the way. As she puts it, “I volunteer because I love making a difference in people’s lives. I like being the light in someone’s darkest day. I am also able to make connections.”
