On Friday, December 12, 2025, the members of the Lapel-Stony Creek Township Fire Department (LSCTFT) gathered at Smoky’s Concession Stand for their annual Christmas party, celebrating the year’s accomplishments and recognizing the outstanding contributions of their peers.
The evening’s awards ceremony honored several members, as voted on by the LSCTFT membership. Fire Chief Jason Renner was named LSCTFT 2025 Officer of the Year, while Deputy Chief Tyler Hittle received the LSCTFT 2025 Firefighter of the Year award. Advanced EMT Destiny Barro was recognized as the LSCTFT 2025 EMS Provider of the Year, and Firefighter/EMT Lucas Sarver, currently deployed overseas, was awarded the LSCTFT 2025 Outstanding Member of the Year.
Additionally, Firefighter William Sears received the LSCTFT 100th Year Anniversary Award. The 2025 Fire Chief’s Awards, handpicked by the fire chief, went to Firefighter/EMT Douglas Parsons, Firefighter/EMT Chase Wilber, and Firefighter Bryan Hutchison, all of whom demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the department.
The department also presented Unit Citations to members who responded to the devastating tornadoes that struck the Town of Lapel and Stony Creek Township on April 2, 2025. Those recognized included FF/EMT Daniel Barker, FF/EMT Rick Holland, FF Brice Everitt, Deputy Chief Tyler Hittle, Lifetime Member Mike Lawther, FF/EMT Chris Sears, FF Bryan Hutchison, FF/Paramedic Kelly Walker, FF/EMT Chase Wilber, FF/Paramedic Mark McClure, FF/Paramedic Chris McClure, Fire Chief Jason Renner, and FF/Paramedic Dan Lambert, as well as FF/Advanced EMT Corbyn Carroll.
The LSCTFT would like to extend special thanks to the South Madison Fire Territory and Edgewood Fire Department for providing coverage, allowing all members to take a well-deserved night off to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments.
