NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad is set to launch its highly anticipated 2025 railbike season on April 4, following a successful debut last year that drew more than 7,000 riders.
The season kicks off with the Forest Park Rail Adventure, a 6.5-mile roundtrip excursion departing from Hobbs Station in Noblesville’s Forest Park. The historic depot, which serves as the starting point for all railbike tours, has been renovated to include restrooms, a gift shop, and access to walking trails and playgrounds.
Riders will embark on a two-hour guided journey through scenic wooded areas and farmland, stopping to turn around at the historic Davin Wye rail junction, located between Noblesville and Cicero. The quad-style railbikes, designed to accommodate up to four riders, come equipped with baskets and cup holders for convenience. Pricing is set at $45 per single rider or $129 for a full bike.
“We’re thrilled to bring back the railbike experience for another season,” said Emily Reynolds, executive director of Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad. “About 75% of the Forest Park Rail Adventure route is shaded, making it a comfortable ride for all ages.”
The 2025 season will run through the first week of November, with additional ride dates available during the warmer months. With 10 excursions already scheduled for April alone, the Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad expects another strong turnout.
